Boschetto's Bakery Closes Its Doors

The Salem Street business will continue to run its commercial bread operation out of another location.

After more than a century of business, North End bakery Boschetto’s closed its doors on Sunday, July 7.

Owners of the Salem Street business told CBS Boston that a huge increase in rent forced them to shut their doors.

However, the business will continue to run its commercial bread operation out of Parziale and Sons on Prince Street, according to WCVB.com.

The business, which has been around 110 years under different owners, baked cookies, pizzas and Italian breads—the latter in an oven constructed in 1895, the Boston Business Journal reported. See a video of the bread-making process at Boschetto’s on the BBJ website.
