Daily 5: Summer Reading Kickoff at North End Library

1. Rainy weekend ahead: Showers and a possible thunderstorm are expected on Friday, mainly before 3 p.m. and into the evening, with some storms producing heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service. 2. Puppet show: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) on Friday at 10:30 a.m. for Caravan Puppets’ tales and songs of great diggers in literature. After the show, sign up for summer reading and receive a tote bag and reading log.

3. Free Fun Friday: Tour many of Boston’s top historical sites for free during Free Fun Fridays. Tour passes will be given away beginning at 10:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
