The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

Boston Police arrested a Tewksbury man on Hanover Street when it seemed like he was trying to start a fight.

Police were on patrol when the door staff of Café Pompeii at 280 Hanover St. flagged them down on Saturday, July 27 at about 2:52 a.m.

The door worker told police that there was a large group of men near the restaurant who were arguing loudly and a fight seemed imminent.

Officers asked one of the men to leave the area several times. While asking him to leave, officers noticed that foot traffic had to step off of the sidewalk to avoid the interaction with the suspect.

When the suspect finally left the area, officers saw him try to re-engage two men at the intersection of Richmond and Hanover streets, some 50 to 70 feet from the original site of the conflict. Two taxicabs had to stop because of the crowd gathering around the new confrontation. Officers noted that the suspect was with four other people.
