  1. Ward 3 Dems Endorse Four for Boston City Council Seats—Boston’s Ward 3 Democratic Committee voted Wednesday night to endorse four candidates for City Council following a two-and-a-half hour forum at the Nazzaro Center.
  2. Michelle Wu Chats About Family, North End Connections—While visiting Charlestown this week, Boston City Council candidate Michelle Wu chatted with Patch about why she is running and spoke of her connections to the North End.
  3. 94th Annual St. Anthony’s Feast Set Aug. 23-26 in the North End—The 94th annual St. Anthony's Feast is coming up on Aug. 24-26 in the North End.
  4. Attempted Carjacking on Hanover Street—What was initially reported to be a carjacking on Hanover Street Monday night was actually a case of attempted robbery, and the suspect fled the scene without scoring anything, a Boston Police spokesman said.
  5. Police: Man Charged with Assault and Battery After Fourth of July Fireworks—A fight broke out of Fruit Street after the Fourth of July fireworks.
  6. Boschetto’s Bakery Closes Its DoorsAfter more than a century of business, North End bakery Boschetto’s closed its doors on Sunday, July 7.

  1. Cops Will Dig Up Suspected Strangler’s Grave—Officials on Thursday cited a technological breakthrough allowing them to identify Albert DeSalvo as the killer of Mary Sullivan, the last murder in a string of 1960s killings by the "Boston Strangler." As a result, police obtained a warrant to exhume DeSalvo's remains to further prove the case.
  2. Marathon Bombing Suspect Pleads Not Guilty—The man accused of bombing the Boston Marathon was arraigned in federal court today on 30 charges including possession of weapons of mass destruction and murder. Seventeen of the charges carry a potential death penalty sentence. 
  3. City Announces Ballot Order for Sept. 24 Preliminary Election—Boston's Election Department announced the ballot order on Thursday, July 11, after the candidates' names were entered into a drum and pulled out in the order that appears on the list.
  4. Mayoral Candidates Share Environmental Views—Nine Boston mayoral candidates opined on carbon emissions, public transportation and how to make the city as environmentally friendly as possible during the Boston Green Mayoral Forum held
  5. Who’s That at Your Door? Could Be the Boston Census—If you didn't fill out a city census form by mail, expect to hear a knock on your door this summer.
