Yesterday, National Braille Press President Brian MacDonald joined Chairman, President and CEO of State Street Corporation, Jay Hooley, at a reading event at the North End Library. Children from the North End neighborhood attended the storytime to hear the books Froggy Learns to Swim and What A Bad Dream, read by Jay Hooley, and Marvin K Mooney and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, read by Harvard student and blind reader, Juna Gjata. In addition, Wynter Pingel, proofreader at National Braille Press, distributed Braille alphabet cards to the children and explained that this is the alphabet blind children use to learn how to read.
