April School Vacation Week at National Braille Press

National Braille Press (NBP) announced today that they will be offering free tours of the NBP facility during April School Vacation Week for families and others on April 22, April 23 and April 24.from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The tours will begin with a screening of the award winning television program “Curiosity Quest, Braille (How to Make A Book),” which gives viewers a preview of how braille books are made.  National Braille Press is opening its doors to show that braille production is a fascinating process, and the best way to learn about it is by experiencing it firsthand.

“Braille production of books and other educational materials is a crucial part of our mission to expand access to literacy,” said Brian Mac Donald, President of National Braille Press. “During school vacation week many parents are looking for stimulating educational activities to keep their kids engaged. Touring National Braille Press is a great way to teach kids about braille literacy and the production of braille books.”
