Young Business Owners Serve Community

Owners of My Cousin's Place are thankful to their friends and family.

It hasn’t even been a year that Ralph Verrocchi and Daniel Delia established a restaurant.

It’s filled with customers some of whom are friends of the owners or just looking for good food and coffee.

The first cousins, who grew up together on Prince Street, opened ‘My Cousin’s Place' on March 21, 2012.

“We make our customers feel like they’re in their own home,” said Ralph who is 22. “We’re here to serve the community and build long-lasting friendships with our customers.”

Ralph studied cooking.

“I went to culinary school at Johnson & Wales from 2008-2010 and always wanted a place of my own so when the storefront became available, we seized the opportunity,” he said.

Daniel, 26 years old, took a different educational path but wanted the same thing as his cousin.

“I went to Suffolk University for business management and I always wanted to have my own place where I can make the decisions,” he said. “I like giving back to the community that always took good care of me growing up.”

My Cousin’s Place, located at 396 Hanover Street, is open Monday-Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“I like the fact that the coffee shop is in my own neighborhood,” said Ralph. “I also like that the people who watched me grow up come to my business and support me even though I’m a young business owner.”

Daniel also feels gratitude for the support he and Ralph have received since opening the doors of My Cousin’s Place.

“We’d like to thank our family and friends for all their support and help throughout the last 11 months,” he said.
